Satan
(Redirected from Adversary)
Satan names the source of the temptation to action devoid of love.
Satan is understood primarily through temptation toward cruelty, hatred, domination, exploitation, deception, and the destruction of rightful relationship.
The concept is intended first for self-examination rather than condemnation of others.
The Church of Humans does not view all opposition, conflict, suffering, or disorder as satanic. Rather, the satanic is recognized specifically in any movement away from love, truth, mercy, dignity, and care for beings.
Satan may be understood as:
- a personal adversary,
- a symbolic principle,
- or both.
Our central concern is not speculation regarding the nature of Satan, but the recognition and rejection of loveless action.
